Only Vegans....Why?

All people should not become Vegetarian You all would be thinking, this is such a minor, unimportant topic. Even if everyone became Vegetarian, how will this change, even make a difference or even matter. This might look like a small topic that does not seek for any debating, but if we go deeper to the root cause and look deep into this matter then it can have a huge impact on our country.   India is a diverse country with various eating habits and beliefs. Some people residing in India are Non-vegetarians, some are Vegetarians and some are Eggetarians. Some people belonging to specific religion may not find eating chicken as a great idea. Some might prefer eating non vegetarian food and some might only prefer dairy products. So, we cannot limit their eating habits, what they should eat and what they shouldn’t. They are the ones on whom this should be left to.   We should have a variety in everything. This is what India is, after all: Diversified.  Also, if everyone started beco

The worth of the crumpled bill - You're special. Don't forget that!

Recognize your origin, your worth and value We often say, I am worthless, I couldn't accomplish such a small goal. I am useless, I ruined my life, because of this decision. I am so worthless. Why, Why are you worthless? What have you done? You have just followed your dream; you have just followed your inner soul. You have just done what you loved to do. You have not done anything wrong or harmful A well-known speaker started his speech by showing everyone a $20 bill. In the room of many people, he asked, “Who would like this $20 bill?” Suddenly many hands started going up. He said, “I am going to give this $20 to one of you, but first, let me crumple it.” After crumpling it, he asked again, “Who still wants this?” Still hands were up in the air. He said, “Well! what if I do this?” He dropped the bill on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe. He then picked it up and asked, “Who still wants it?” Stills a few hands were up in the air. After this s

Why Me?

Are you all aware of the first black man to win the U.S. Open, Australian Open and Wimbledon? It is Arthur Ashe.  We receive several miseries, hunger, and constant thrashing in life. These(we can choose to see these as) are also the gifts that you have bestowed on us O Lord. Arthur Ashe  was the first black man to win the U.S. Open, Australian Open and Wimbledon? During a heart surgery in 1983, he got infected by the blood that he received and contracted AIDS. From all over the world, he received letters from his fans, one of which said: "Why  does God have to select you for such a bad disease? To this Arthur Ashe replied: "In the whole world 50 million children start playing tennis, 5 million learn to play tennis, 500,000 learn professional tennis, 50,000 come to the circuit, 5000 reach the Grand Slam, 50 reach the Wimbledon, 4 to semifinal, 2 to the final. When I was holding the cup I never asked GOD 'Why me?'. Today in pain I shouldn't be asking GOD 'Why me

A girl who stands out!

My candle burns at both ends. It will not last the night. But ah my foes and oh my friends it gives a lovely light. Roald Dahl was a British novelist, short-story writer, poet, screenwriter, and fighter pilot. His books have sold more than 250 million copies worldwide. His works include James and the Giant Peach, The Witches, Fantastic Mr. Fox, The BFG, The Twits, George's Marvelous Medicine, Tales of the Unexpected. Today, I will narrating the story Matilda whose author is Roald Dahl. Matilda Wormwood is a young girl who is extraordinarily brilliant. At a young age, she can solve complex math problems in her head and read books that are meant for adults. Now can anyone here solve this problem in their mind 1987+765-7856*21.... And now can you tell me the meaning of the word Doldrums or aggrandize....That’s tough Right. But this was like a piece of cake for Matilda.  But unfortunately Matilda had grown up with parents who did not give her the attention and love. They thought of

Role of Monkeys in Indian culture: Religion, myths, arts and architecture

This is based on a real life story: Once a 3-year-old boy accidentally fell into the monkey enclosure at Brookfield Zoo, the workers anticipated the worst. The Giant monkey (Gorilla) could harm the cute little boy. A Giant gorilla can kill a full-fledged man so we all are aware of the damage they could bring to that small child. Everyone was gazing impatiently as to what would happen next, but that day turned out differently. After the boy fell in, a female gorilla ran over to the boy and picked him up. This made all the employees step back in horror petrified. Then she carried him carefully over to the door, for the rescue workers to take him out. This left the employees amazed as to how beautifully the sweet mother saved the child's life. It was the monkey that had come to the rescue of the child. Monkey the primates have a great place in Indian culture and life.  They are  believed as the Hindu God Hanuman, the Bajrang Bali, the god of power and strength. He and his army played

The most important Gandhian value which the world should follow today

If at a purchase counter in a shop, we pay for the clothes and mistakenly the shopkeeper returns 100 rupees extra to us as a change. What would our instant thoughts be like? Our instant thoughts would be to keep the money with us because we are being profited by this. Why would we even have the thought of giving the money back? Now, if Gandhiji would have been there in our place, would he return the money or find his benefit in this situation and abstain from giving it back? He would not look for his gain in this, but he would walk on the path of Satya i.e. truth and integrity. He would give the extra money back to the shopkeeper because of the great values and the purity he has in his heart. He would not want the shopkeeper to be at a loss. Even though this is a small, insignificant act but is a valuable one. I feel that the Gandhian Value the whole world needs to follow today is Satya (truth). Truth is what fills up anyone with a lot of faith, respect and undoubted trust towards us,

Our strength in disguise

Can anyone tell me why is the Leaning Tower of Pisa is tilted? Let me tell you an interesting fact. The Leaning tower of Pisa is tilted due to the soft ground and its foundation. Yet another truth is that in the past there had been 4 deadly earthquakes in the region, but the tower did not tumble because of the soft ground. At times what we see as the weakness, happens to be strength in disguise. We can see our past bad experience as a reason to feel bad about but the same experience could have been the reason to our growth and maturity today. The CEO of Apple and Pixar animation Steve Jobs also feels the same. He feels that dropping out of the college was the best decision he had ever made. Because he had dropped out from college and didn't have to take the normal classes, so he decided to take a calligraphy class to learn how to do this. He learnt about Serif and san serif typefaces, about varying the amount of space between different letter combinations. and about what makes grea

The hidden LOVE

Those who do not have the essence of Love in their life, can't expect anyone to be near them. Wherever their is LOVE, success and wealth goes with it.      Once there was a women who came out of her house and saw three old men with long beard sitting in her courtyard. She had never met them before so she was not able to recognize any of them. She asked " I don't think I know you, but you would be hungry. Please come in and have something to eat". They asked "Ma'am is your husband home?" She  replied " No, he is out right now". "Then we can't come" they said.  They waited till the time his husband came home.  In the evening when her husband came home, she told them about what had happened in the morning. He told her to go and tell them that " I am home, and you are requested to come in. The women went out and invited them in. One of the men said, that "we do not go into a house together. The women asked " Why is that

Gandhi Forever

“There is music, art, economy and joy even in the spinning wheel.”    This painting depicts Ahimsa and World peace which are among the two beliefs Gandhiji followed. Symbolically, the white bird represents peace and tranquility in society, while the leaves surrounding the Earth symbolize different countries with diverse religions living together harmoniously. The lower part of the painting portrays human beings reaching out to help those in need, while the elements of fire and water represent the challenging situations surrounding people. The underlying message conveyed by this artwork is that even though Gandhi is no longer with us, his teachings on world peace, harmony, and non-violence continue to be sought after and followed by society. Gandhi's influence endures, guiding and nurturing individuals to uphold moral values and interpersonal skills such as compassion, selflessness, respect, truthfulness, peace, love, gentleness, and kindness.
