It’s your ATTITUDE, more than your APTITUDE, that determines your ALTITUDE!

A girl met with an accident at the age of 16 and her leg had to be amputated as it became gangrenous. She had two option 1) to indulge in self-pity 2) accept the faith and rise-up. She went for the second, she fought all the struggles she endured in her life and turned the difficulties of her life, to stepping stones for success. She is Sudha Chandran. As you all must be aware, she is an Indian film and television actress and an accomplished Bharatanatyam dancer.  She was able to achieve this as she had the right attitude i.e. determination, tenacity and above all plenty of enthusiasm. It’s your ATTITUDE, not your APTITUDE, that determines your ALTITUDE! I repeat it’s your ATTITUDE, not your APTITUDE, that determines your ALTITUDE! Your attitude, your approach is everything. And to be successful in any sphere of life we need to have the right attitude, must approach any task or job with a strong willpower, positive mental attitude and zeal. It is important for us to have ski

You have more than enough

There lived a rich family of four with the mother, father and two young boys. Even though they had a lot in life, they complained all day long. The children would complain of not having a Limousine (a fancy car) and a home theatre. On the other hand, there was a very poor family who were barely able to make both the ends meet. Even though they did not have enough resources to satisfy their needs, they were happy and contented with all they had. They always prayed and thanked God for all they he had given him and never complained because they knew that there were many others living in worsen conditions than them. At this point, I am remined of a famous quote by Mahatma Gandhi-  “Earth provides enough to satisfy every man's needs, but not every man's greed.” We need to stop complaining. Whatever has been given, learn to accept and appreciate it. Be happy with whatever you have. It is enough to meet with your needs. The life we have is full of choices. Do you remember that

First be, what you preach

Once there was a teacher who was discussing with her students about the side effects of getting angry. She told them that anger was the worst emotion and everyone should leave the company of this strong emotion. She told them different ways by which they could control it. One day, a student of her class had not completed his homework, so the teacher got angry, and started scolding him. The day prior to this she was telling the students not to get angry under any circumstance, but now she was the one getting angry on them.  Isn't this a tragic irony? I don't understand myself and go out to teach others. That's the kind of teacher I am! ARE YOU SUCH KIND OF A TEACHER? I have a short story for you, to make you understand this well. Once a woman came to a wise man with his son. She said, “This boy eats a lot of sugar. I have tried all the ways to stop him but he never listens to me. My words fall on deaf ears all the time. What should I do? I am really disturbed.” The w

The Free bird

This is still the sad but a true picture of our society in many rural villages and orthodox families. You are a girl, you cannot go to the school, only boys have the privilege; You need to stay at home and help your mother with household chores.  I often wonder why is there inequality among boys and girls, men and women? Why are boys treated as superior and girls as inferior? Why are only women and girls told to engage themselves in household chores? Why can't they pursue their higher education? Why are only boys told to continue their higher studies and pursue their dreams? As per the constitutional right 1 - RIGHT TO EQUALITY, don't both boys and girls have equal rights? Aren't both equal before the law?  If yes, then why does such kind of gender discrimination still exist? WHY DO WE TREAT WOMEN AS INFERIOR? After all they are the ones who give birth to kings.   Once upon a time there was a father and her beautiful, loving daughter.  Father:  "I will get you

Literacy can't wait during this global crisis

Quotidian Superheroes

From a spirited body free to roam, To always staying at home. In the face of the pandemic, gripped by fear and despair, They stood tall, showing how much they care. When was the last time we acknowledged them? When was the last time we worried about them? When was the last time we recognized their endless care?
