A few months back, kit.info("Samsung - Wikipedia", lines = 10) (Samsung) unveiled the most intriguing gadgets of CES 2022, the portable projector, Daaa Freestyle.
Of course, portable projectors have been around for a while but the Samsung

freestyle is easily one of the more compact and lightweight efforts that I have come across. Weighing just 830 grams, this fist size device with its curved form factor effortlessly slips into the backpack without too much bother allowing us to experience unexpected joy everywhere, keeping the entertainment on the go, at all times.
It is an impressively dinky portable projector which works as a standalone stream thanks to Tizen 6.0 OS. There is no need to connect the smartphone or anything else to it. In order to stream content from a wide variety of different services we’ve got Samsung TV+ to our rescue which offers a huge selection of content including the good old teletubbie. Apart from this, there are other funky and quirky features tucked away as well like the ambient mode, which, as you may have guessed, enables us to project an ambient scene onto the wall when we've had enough of the Teletubbies.

Or if it's someone's birthday we can get a neon style projector mounted on the wall to really get the party kicking off in style. Alternatively, we can even project a fake window onto our wall with some stunning scenery so that we can momentarily forget that we happen to live in Mumbai. Quirky! Isn’t it.

A projector, a smart speaker, and an outside light source, all rolled into one. This is truly a revolutionary piece of technology! Infact, other kit companies and even Apple are looking at this closely. It comes with a slew of never-seen-before, convenient and useful features, like point-and-play, easy setup, a rotating design, instant auto keystone (straightens itself like magic to a perfectly straight, 16:9 rectangular screen) and focal correction, smart entertainment, premium 360 sound and more. 

From slanted walls, ceilings and kitchen tables, to outdoor surfaces, the 180 degree design gives us the flexibility to point, play and enjoy a big screen experience without even having a white wall. 

It has a swivel so we can get the picture lined up wherever we want it and by tilting it straight up we can even project an image onto the ceiling for when we’re kicking back in bed and we want to watch a little bit of anime. And, of course because this is a Samsung device we’ve got a lovely crisp white finish to it as well which pleasingly matches my desk. Yes! Indeed, I have this Itty bitty portable projector in my possession and I'm Lovin' it.

The projector optimizes screen size, auto-focuses (just focus on the moment) and levels the image to the right size without compromising on the quality of the picture even a little. The visuals remain super clear, the colors are rich, poppy, punchy and vibrant. So if you are enjoying a bit of that teletubbies action, well you'll be wowed by the extremely luminous visuals. 

So, in simple words, it does the hard work for us, leaving us free to relax and enjoy the content. We can access our streaming apps, listen to our favorite playlist, use voice assistants and even read this article! It basically has all kinds of fancy shenanigans!

The part that stands out about this is that even though it is made from metal, there’s a lovely rubbery soft touch finish for the body of the projector.  Additionally, Samsung intends to make available a special waterproof casing and power pack for the freestyle.
