China's 'Covid zero' policy is UNREALISTIC!

With the rise of omicron cases in China, the country is increasingly at risk of being overrun by the omicron variant of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, as brutal as the one Hong Kong did. The country's Covid zero strategy to addressing the virus has sparked outrage and resulted in considerable limitations and an information blackout across provinces.

There are a large number of elderly citizens in the nation, about 264 million, many of whom, about 52 million have not been vaccinated which is the biggest source of worry. Another source of concern for China is the poor efficiency of the vaccine, Sinovac, which was mandated by the WHO at 51% efficacy. 'Covid Zero' could crush China!

In this scenario, India has played it smart by avoiding the Covid zero strategy. Its strategy is scientifically sound and is focused on living with the pandemic - prioritizing vaccination for the elderly. Given the increase in Covid infections in China, India must maintain mask laws, offer booster doses to the adult population, and keep track of new virus variants.

After these two years, it has become pretty clear that this virus is to stay and attempting to eradicate it is not just unrealistic, but absolutely impossible.
