The Medieval Marvel

Taj Mahal is the medieval marvel and the ideal monument that was built by Shah Jahan in loving remembrance of his wife. I personally, not just like it for the emotional story attached with it, but also for the detailed architectures, interesting fun facts and myths behind it. Despite this being one of the most iconic stature in the world, a lot of its history is still a mystery which has not been discovered yet but here are a few tales and realities about this marble-clad marvel.

1) We can spot optical illusions everywhere in it. The designers and artisans of this incredible monument were masters of proportions and tricks of eye. For instance, it appears incredibly close and large to us when we approach the main gate but it shrinks in size as we get closer which is exactly the reverse case of what really happens. Ideally, the gate should get bigger and bigger as we come closer, however something opposite happens with the Taj Mahal.

2) It is perfectly and impeccably symmetrical which symbolizes the power and perfection of the Mughal supervision.

3) The Taj gets regular facials to vanish its blemishes and make its radiant glow return again.

4) One of the most far-fetched facts about the Taj Mahal is that Shah Jahan delved the eyes of the artisans and cut off their hands to ensure that no one could replicate the elegance and beauty of the Taj Mahal. He wanted Taj mahal to be one of its kind and truly, it is. It is a symbol of power, purity and love which brought glory to the medieval phase.

It is not just a piece of architecture, but the proud passion of an emperor’s love wrought in the living stones of the Taj Mahal.
