A Tribute to Our Beloved Bapu
A Tribute to Our Beloved Bapu
“Relationships are based
on four principles: respect, understanding, acceptance and appreciation."
Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, lovingly addressed as
Bapu or Mahatma Gandhi, is the father of our nation who led India through its
struggle for Independence against Britishers with his powerful tool of
Non-Violence/Ahimsa. He inspired various movements such as the Quit India
Movement for civil rights and freedom across the world. He was a multifarious
personality with high moral values and interpersonal skills. He was a selfless,
peaceful, fearless and calm being who lived an austere life. Gandhi is known
worldwide for advocating the principles of truthfulness and Satyagraha.
He had compassion towards people, respect for
women, fought against untouchability and helped the needy.
What a true symbol of peace and humanity he was.
Right.
Even though Gandhiji is not with us today, but all
his teachings like World peace, harmony, non-violence are still being sought
after and followed by the society. Gandhiji is still with us and will forever
be with us, teaching and nurturing us to grow up with high moral values and
interpersonal skills like being compassionate, selfless, respectful, truthful,
peaceful, loving, soft spoken and kind people who maintain calmness and
patience amidst each other.
Today we are celebrating the birth anniversary of
this great and noble man and as we are doing this, we should promise to
disperse and instill his principles in our lives.
I am making an effort to be more compassionate to
the people around me and I am also starting to selflessly serve the needy.
Are you?
